Have you ever dreamed of stepping onto the stage? Now is your chance!

The Women's Theatre Company at The Nine is looking for new cast members for its 2026 production of A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen, directed by Laure De Man. She is an Actress, Writer, Director (and recovering lawyer):

Laure's love affair with theatre started at age nine and never really stopped — not even for five years, while she was busy being an actual lawyer at the Brussels Bar. Eventually the stage won. She traded courtrooms for curtain calls, trained as an actress at Cours Florent Brussels (2023–2026), and never looked back.

In 2023, she founded Women's Theatre Company – The Nine, a Brussels-based feminist theatre company built on one gloriously simple idea: women get to play everyone — including all the roles history decided were "for men only." Consider it Shakespeare's Globe, flipped on its head, with better shoes.

Since then, the company has staged Yasmina Reza's God of Carnage and Art, and is currently deep in rehearsals for Ibsen's A Doll's House. Laure also wrote and performed Émilienne, a solo piece adapted from the novel La Plage d'Ostende (Prix, Festival des Automnales), and picked up a Best Film award at the PFI for the short film Une Nuit. 

Directing, writing, acting? Laure does it all, usually at the same time, always in service of putting women exactly where they belong: centre stage.

Whether you have years of theatre experience or have never acted before, you are warmly encouraged to audition. Passion, curiosity and commitment matter far more than experience. You do not need to have attended our workshop to audition, it was simply an opportunity to discover the company and have fun. Everyone is welcome at the auditions.

Joining the production means becoming part of a wonderful group adventure: from the very first read-through to opening night, you'll experience the excitement of creating a full theatrical production together and performing it in front of an audience in the beautiful clubhouse of The Nine. Rehearsals will take place one evening per week between on Mondays between october and may, making the project compatible with work and other commitments while giving everyone the time to grow together as a cast.

Beyond acting, this is a chance to discover the unique joy of ensemble work, build lasting friendships, challenge yourself creatively, and share an unforgettable experience with a supportive and enthusiastic troupe.
